Dreams is a service that gets users to save money for their dreams with the help of triggers that make saving feel fun and smooth.

RESEARCH

We started by taking their courses online to view the training material. We then proceeded with a competitor analysis and a survey to gain an understanding of how people save money and whether they knew about the Dreams app.

CONCEPT SKETCHES

We then created a customized sprint based on our research and the user data we received. We had interviews, created sketches, and made prototypes which we then had user tests on.

PROTOTYPE

We made a conscious choice early in the project to only work with low-fi prototypes throughout the work to make sure the testers were giving us feedback on the concept and features rather than how the prototype looked graphically.

THE RESULT

We wanted to find a solution where we could increase users' self-esteem around savings, stocks and funds and at the same time make them stay in Dreams. To solve that problem we needed to understand the potential user and the existing Dreams users and evolve something from boring and difficult like saving to something fun and easy.


We created a gamified solution where users get to take part in different challenging steps in different phases of the academy, which motivates users by getting different types of rewards. Our insights were that the solution was a good way to motivate users to use the service actively.
