Develop and improve onboarding for the Watchit Golfs App
We were commissioned to develop Watchit Golf's app Swing Speed Radar with a focus on the first time use, the actual onboarding process.
We developed the concept during a four-day sprint design week.

December 2020 - January 2021
We started by having an expert interview with the customer where general golf related questions were asked about the existing application, customer journey and wishes that the costumer had..
At the same time, we wrote up HMW (How might we questions) in parallel with the expert interview.
The user map was drawn up to circle focus areas and the important moments.
The HMW questions were inserted at the points where they needed to be answered and attacked.
Everyone in the group brainstormed examples of inspiration from around us that could be useful in the project. In the group's case, it was, among other things, mobile games, driver's license theory apps, other golf apps, training apps, etc.
Everyone drew up concept sketches which we then voted on. The concept that received the most votes was "Audio Amigo", which involved getting instructions via audio when hitting your first golf swing.
We developed a joint user test flow, which then formed the basis of the storyboard.
We built a clickable prototype during the third day of the design sprint. The program used was Adobe XD to create part of an experience on a smart watch. In parallel with the design of images, flows, texts and sounds, user tests and recruiting of users were prepared.
During the user test, the testers were overall positive about the app and interested in testing it on the golf course.
The biggest criticism was that there was no text for the audio instructions. The test subjects also pointed out that the time to hit was too short.
Many found the voice guide to be pleasant, however there was concern that the sound was not accompanied by text, mainly because you might miss what is being said and need to go back to hear the instructions again.
The people who played golf a lot also commented that it can be disturbing with sound on the golf course as it can disturb others, they wanted the choice to be able to read the instructions without sound or connect the sound to a mobile instead, to be able to plug in headphones.
In conclusion, overall the Audios Amigo received a positive response. The parts that were developed and tested in the prototype feel promising and can be developed further into the future.
